This home started when our founder discovered an innocent child who had been severely burned with boiling water on her thigh by her paternal aunt (ssenga). The aunt had been caring for the child after both her parents had passed away. The orphan was suffering in pain from the wound, which inspired compassion in our founder who provided the necessary medical care until the wound healed after about 3 months.
During the treatment process, the little girl began calling our founder "mother," which led to a permanent maternal relationship that continues to this day. It became apparent that the child's relatives showed little concern for her wellbeing, so our founder took on all parental responsibilities, including providing for her basic needs, education, and everything else required.
Since then, we have welcomed many underprivileged children into our home, which has grown to include both boys and girls. Some children joined due to lack of school fees, tuition, clothing, medical care when sick, or accommodation, and have become permanent members of the "Lydicaron Home."
